Our Mission Statement

“We aim to promote a love, knowledge and practice of Judaism in a stimulating way.”

Our Objectives

  • To be a centre of excellence for Jewish education.
  • To create a social centre for local Jewish children.
  • To instil a sense of community in our students.
  • For children to learn to read and write Hebrew.
  • For children to gain a knowledge the Siddur, prayers and of Synagogue services.
  • For children to learn Jewish practice and rituals.
  • To instill a love of Israel in our students.

To include citizenship in our curriculum and to show that we as Jews have a positive role to play in the wider world.

Timetable

10.00am Cheder starts with registration in class

10.05am On some weeks, assembly will take place during this time, often involving class presentations

10.15am Tefillah (Prayers) and Tzedakah (Charity collection)

10.30am Lesson time

11.15am Break

11.30am Lesson time or special activity

12.30pm Cheder ends; please collect your child from their classroom in person



Please note that Cheder starts promptly at 10.00am. To maximise on the educational impact of the morning, we insist that parents bring children on time.

Teachers will be waiting to welcome their students prior to the start of class, and will wait in the class until each child has been collected at the end of the morning.

If you wish, you may speak to your child’s Cheder teacher briefly at 12.30pm.
