Welfare

  • Compassionate Cafe
Whether you are experiencing recent loss, delayed or prolonged grief, or facing early anticipatory grief of a loved one who is terminally ill, please know that you are not alone.

There is strength in sharing and comfort in simply being alongside others who understand.

With this in mind, we are excited to announce the launch of our new Compassionate Cafe - an informal monthly drop in; a gentle, welcoming space for anyone who would like to talk about their grief, share experiences or find mutual support and encouragement when it is needed most.  Equally, it is for those who prefer to sit quietly, in silent solidarity with others.

Above all, it is a place to just be - be yourself, without fear of judgement or scrutiny, in a safe and confidential setting.

As trained volunteers in bereavement befriending, we are here for you. So come join us at one of our pop up Compassionate Cafes, grab a cup of nourishment, receive servings of compassion, and we will be here, ready to offer a non-judgemental listening ear for when you need it most.

For further information and to register (preferred if possible but drop ins welcome) please email Debra:

  • Tehillim Group
Tehilim (the book of Psalms) is an ancient text composed by King David. For thousands of years Jews have recited Tehilim for various reasons, for example when they find themselves in difficult situations personally or communally.

We have set up a Mill Hill Tehilim Group for men and women to read the complete book of 150 Tehillim on a designated day each month. Each member of the group will be given a Psalm to read which can be read in Hebrew or English.

To register your interest in joining the group, please contact us via any of the email addresses on the poster below.
If you have any queries please contact us using this contact form .

We hope you will join us in bringing this meaningful spiritual experience to life for our community.

  • WhatsApp Group: Mill Hill Cares
Would you like to help out within the community as and when needed but can't commit to a regular thing?
We have set up a Whatsapp group so that if something is needed on an ad hoc basis, we have a pool of people who might be able to help out.
This could include visiting someone in hospital, cooking a meal, or visiting someone elderly while their families are on holiday.
If you are interested (there is no long term commitment), please simply fill out the form below and we'll add you to the group.
    Thanks.
